You’ve felt the version of this at home, where you set the textbook boundary with your mother, word for word from some carousel, and the whole family treats you like you converted to a foreign religion, because in a way you did. The version I teach works where people actually need each other: boundaries that bring you closer instead of ending contact, and repair for when the line lands wrong, so when your auntie calls you selfish for saying no you have language that holds the no without burning the relationship, and when you’ve overcorrected into isolation you have a way back that isn’t collapse. All of that lives in the Toolkit. Comment WORKBOOK and I’ll send you the link. #relationalskillsforliberation".

These 3 women in addiction recovery say help, not handcuffs, could have changed their lives
Being caught in a constant “hamster wheel” without any help is how Tracy Bechard remembers a time when she was addicted to drugs, getting arrested and wondering what supports existed for her. She's is reacting to a policy change at Windsor police where officers have been instructed to arrest and charge anyone they see openly using illegal drugs

Jonathan Watts argues that false hope can function like an anaesthetic: distant targets, miracle technologies and endless promises that everything will somehow work out, while emissions rise, ecosystems unravel and governments delay the action required now. Research pubkushed in the science journal Nature shows climate related distress is linked with greater collective action. Fear, grief and anger are not automatically paralysing. In a crisis this severe, they can be entirely rational responses that push people to act. Meanwhile, some Indigenous peoples living closest to ecological breakdown do not even organise their worldview around “hope” in the way industrial societies do. Anthropologist Ana Maria Machado says the Yanomami have no direct word for it, focusing instead on relationships and responsibilities in the present. That contrast is brutal. Those most exposed to ecological destruction are being forced to deal with reality now, while the societies driving much of it keep selling themselves comforting stories about the future. The problem is not hope grounded in action. It is placebo hope: reassurance without transformation. We do not need more comforting narratives. We need less denial, less delay and far more action.".
